The Big Fab Comedy Show with Darren Harroitt

A rip-roaring night of live stand-up comedy starring the TV names you know and love alongside some of
the hottest up-and-coming talent. Presented by Scotland’s original home of live comedy Gilded Balloon,
this is the ultimate night out for comedy fans!

Following appearances on Live at the Apollo, As Yet Untitled, Comedy Central’s Roast Battle and many
more, the unstoppable Darren Harriott headlines the show. Joining him for a hilarious night of comedy
are Live At The Apollo star Helen Bauer and two of the circuits brightest rising stars Stuart McPherson
and Kate Hammer. Best known for appearances on Scot Squad and as viral sensation the Other Murray
Brother, Chris Forbes hosts.

Darren Harriott
Darren Harriott is one of the most exciting comedians on the circuit. Over the last few years, he has
hosted Live at the Apollo, BBC’s News Jack Unplugged and CBBC’s The Dog Ate My Homework. He has
become a regular face on our screens on panel shows such Mock the Week and Don’t Hate the Playaz as
well as giving his viewpoint on popular reality shows; The Apprentice: Your Fired and The Great British
Bake Off: Extra Slice. He’s a Comedy Central favourite on shows such as The Comedy Bus and Roast
Battle. Earlier this year he wrote and recorded his own 4 part series Black Label on BBC Radio 4.
A confident performer with a captivating charm, Darren’s comedy deals with everything from subverting
stereotypes, to everyday observations, to that juiciest of topics, religion – all with a cutting edge.

Chris Forbes
Star of BBC’s Scot Squad and award winning comedian, Chris Forbes is one of the most in demand
comics in Scotland. As well as being a regular on the UK comedy circuit, Forbes has gigged all over the
world and supported Kevin Bridges on tour. Chris is an experienced host for corporate events and also
an accomplished after dinner speaker.
Chris’s other TV credits include Jonathan Creek and Mountain Goats on BBC One and Only An Excuse on
BBC Scotland. He also featured in BBC Three’s Badults and received a BBC commission for his much
praised comedy character, Damien Crow. Chris is one third of the critically acclaimed sketch group, How
Do I Get Up There? who also had their own TV Sketch show on BBC Scotland. Forbes is a regular panellist
on BBC Radio Scotland’s award winning satirical news quiz, Breaking the News.

Helen Bauer
Known for being a comedy powerhouse with an electric stage presence, Helen is one of the UK’s most
exciting rising stand up stars.
TV appearances include Live At The Apollo (BBC2), Stand Up For Live Comedy: BBC Presents (BBC 1 & 3),
Edinburgh Nights (BBC 2), Period Dramas (BBC 3), CelebAbility, The Stand Up Sketch Show, The Emily
Attack Show and Hey Tracey (ITV2), The Dog Ate My Homework (CBBC), Pep Talk, Fat Chat and Comedy
Central’s Digital Fringe (Comedy Central), Late Night Mash, CALM Gala, Alan Davies: As Yet Untitled and
Hypothetical (Dave).

Stuart McPherson
Stuart McPherson is an award-winning stand-up comedian, writer and also an actor. He is also known
for writing and performing acclaimed Edinburgh Fringe shows. Stuart is probably best known for
appearing in the Scottish BAFTA winning comedy Scot Squad on BBC Scotland. Interestingly enough,
Stuart is also a lead story producer and script editor on the programme.
As a stand-up comedian Stuart McPherson has supported Larry Dean and also John Kearns on tour. He
won Best Newcomer at the Scottish Comedy Awards. Stuart has performed stand-up on the TV
programmes such as Edinburgh Unlocked for BBC, and also for the BBC’s The Comedy Underground. He
has appeared as a panellist on programmes such as the BBC’s Bad Influencer and Sanjeev Kohli’s Big Talk
which was also on BBC. Others include BBC Radio Scotland’s The Good The Bad and the Unexpected and
Stop the Press.

Kate Hammer
Kate Hammer is a fresh face and also entire person forged in the comedy, writing, and performance
scenes, living it up in Scotland, U.K. They have performed internationally as an improviser, stand-up,
sketch comedian, and actor.
Kate won Runner-Up Best Local Troupe at Montreal Sketchfest ‘19, as well as being nominated for three
FRANKIE awards at the 2019 Montreal Fringe for the show she wrote, directed, produced, and acted in
called The Peers (JFL Best Comedy, Segal Centre Best Theatre Company, and Freestanding Room’s
Making Big Things Happen in Small Spaces). She was awarded the Excellence in Playwriting Award at the
McGill Theatre Festival, and published a feminist anthology in 2018 that supremely upset one straight,
white man (and maybe more!!)
